Mulin Jun Li received a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics from The University of Hong Kong. He is a Professor with the Department of Bioinformatics at School of Basic Medical Sciences, Tianjin Medical University. Mulin is a bioinformatics researcher with expertise in regulatory genomics. His research interests include the development of bioinformatics tools and resources for interpreting variant effects on different types of molecular traits and human complex diseases, and the dissection of biological mechanism of disease-causal regulatory variants using high-throughput functional genomics methods.

Shijie Zhang was awarded PhD from the Dept. of Computer Science, Tianjin University, in 2017. My research focusing on the areas of modelling and understanding the regulatory role of the noncoding functional elements of the human genome via machine learning (deep learning) methods, functional prediction and prioritization of regulatory variants.

Yuanyuan Ma has obtained a master's degree. Before joining the Li Lab in 2021, she researched model of retinal degeneration diseases and molecular toxicology. She is now working on laboratory management and technology. She is enthusiastic about bioinformatics and also likes trip with her friends in spare time.

Hongxi Yang received his Ph.D. in Public Health and Preventive Medicine from Tianjin Medical University in 2020. With expertise in statistical learning and human exposome, he focused on computational method development to understand interactions of genetic variants and environments . He is currently a postdoctoral research fellow in Dr. Mulin Li's lab at Department of Bioinformatics in Tianjin Medical University. His research interests fall in the intersection of computational biology, genetic epidemiology and disease prevention & management.

Ke Zhao is a Ph.D. student majoring in Pharmacology. She has 5 years of research experience investigating mechanism of regulatory variant and regulatory elements in the noncoding genome using CRISPR screening and functional genomics methods. She is enthusiastic about bioinformatics and also interested in music in her spare time.

Yao Zhou is a PhD student in Bioinformatics. Before joining the lab, she received a bachelor's degree in Basic Medicine from Tianjin Medical University. She is working on identifing and functionally characterizing the context-specific and population-specific regulation of genetic variations on molecular phenotypes.

Jianhua Wang is a Ph.D. student majoring in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics. He received his bachelor's degree in Basic Medicine from Tianjin Medical University. Jianhua became a member of the lab in January 2018 and is currently working on GWAS data and their integration with multi-omics data such as 3D genomics data.

Menghan Luo is a master student in bioinformatics. She is focusing on genome-wide functional screen of regulatory element such as enhancer and microRNA in cancer.

Xiangling Feng is a master student. She joined the lab in 2019, majoring in epigenetics and 3D genomics. Feng specializes in analyzing genomics data, including ChIP-seq/RNA-seq/Capture HiC data analysis. She likes to travel and enjoys listening to music.

Tianyi You is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Bioinformatics, Tianjin Medical University. Before joining the Mulin lab as a bioinformatics Ph.D. student in 2020, he received his B.S. and M.S. in the Department of Bioinformatics, Zheng Guo lab, Harbin Medical University. His past experiences included the research of cancer early diagnosis, prognosis prediction, and drug response prediction based on transcriptional and genomics data. He is interested in exploring the tissue-specificity of cancer driver mutations based on multi-omics data during Ph.D.’s study.

Xutong Fan joined the lab as a postgraduate in June 2020. He received his undergraduate degree in Bioinformatics from the Tianjin Medical University. He focuses on pathogenicity and positive selection study of causal regulatory variants for complex traits, as well as developing computational tools to locate or prioritize the disease causal variation.

Chengyue Wu joined the lab as a master student in September 2020. She is excited to be learning about Molecular experiments and believes this field to be important in the future of medicine. She is interested in biology and excited to gain experience in research. She enjoys listening to music and playing badminton.

Xiaoyan Zhao, an undergraduate majoring in basic medicine at the Tianjin medical university, has joined in the lab for two years. Currently, she has completed an innovation training program for college students. She is curious and likes to try new things in her spare time.

Wenwen Zhang is an undergraduate student of Tianjin Medical University, majoring in Basic Medical Sciences. She joined the Mulin Lab to study and now focuses on constructing useful resources for the interpretation of disease-causal variants.

Jianjin Teng graduated from Tianjin Medical University in 2021 majored in bioinformatics. She joined the lab in Spring 2021. She is very interested in precision editing and hopes to learn more skills to serve the future. She is enthusiastic about bioinformatics and also interested in music in her spare time.

Lin Zhao is an undergraduate student (Class of 2022) from Tianjin Medical University. She is very interested in genomics research and hopes to discover more about gene expression and human diseases. In her free time, she enjoys reading, running and watching movies with her friends.

Kunlun Liu graduated from Tianjin Medical University in 2021 majored in bioinformatics. He joined the lab in Spring 2021. He is extremely excited to learn more about using programming in Biology and hopes to apply some of the skills he will be learning to future research. During his free time, he enjoys traveling and reading.

Xueqi Wang is a PhD student. Before joining the lab in 2021, she obtained a master's degree in biology. Previously, she studied at the Kunming Institute of Zoology and worked on the mechanisms of non-coding regions and the analysis of high-throughput genomic data.

Xin Cheng graduated from the North China University of Science and Technology in 2021 majored in pharmacology. He is keen to study gene editing techniques such as CRISPRCas9 and PE, and he hopes to be able to study and explore in that field more and more. He likes swimming and running.

Xianfu Yi received his Ph.D. in Genetics from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2012. His research area is on bioinformatics. With expertise in omics data analysis and human genetics, he focuses on integration of high-throughput sequencing data to understand molecular mechanisms of human disease, such as variant annotation, transcriptional regulation, and cancer evolution.

My research areas are in Computational Systems Biology. Particularly, I am interested in applying network biology approaches to understand the genotype-to-phenotype relationships in diseases. My current focuses are: 1) the tissue/cancer type-specificity of cancer driver mutations and its implications for therapeutic opportunities; 2) Aberrant alternative splicing mRNA isoforms in hematological malignancies.

My research areas include Bioinformatics and Computational Epigenomics. I am particularly interested in bioinformatics algorithms, pipelines, online tools and databases development. I am also involved in analyzing genetics and epigenomics data (including DNA methylation and histone modification).

Xueming Yao is a cross-lab master student who joined the lab in October 2020. He received his B.S. from School of Basic Medicine, Tianjin Medical University in China. He devotes himself on solving genetic mechanism of ocular disease using multiomics data. Moreover, he likes to watch movies and hang out with his friends in spare time.
